The storm was coming, it was coming and it was going to be bigger and badder than anyone here could understand. Everyone thought that it was here, that it was maybe going to get a little worse and that was it.

But they were so, so wrong. Something was building off the coast that even the meteorologists couldn't understand because they had no idea that it was going to hit Siren Cove and interact with whatever weather was going on here and be bigger than anything they could have imagined hitting the town. Siren Cove was going to be gone once the storm hit.

Oh sure, a few buildings would survive. The sturdier ones or the ones heavily protected by magic but most of them? They were going to be ruined if they were left standing at all, more likely to be reduced to wet toothpicks than anything inhabitable.

Genevieve couldn't let that happen. She'd seen once before what that sort of destruction was like with Katrina. She'd stood by once while a terrifying storm destroyed the city she loved and she wouldn't let it happen again. There were too many lives- too many good lives- that would be lost if she didn't do something. So Genevieve was going to let her powers of their leash.

She finished up the last of her texts to friends and family, wiping her eyes dry from the tears. It was stupid because once she stepped outside she as going to be soaked from the rain but she couldn't help it, it was reflex. Taking a steadying breath she as she closed her eyes and listened to the sound of the rain lashing against the windshield. It would have been soothing if it weren't some sort of harbinger of doom.

Opening her door and stepping out into the rain she used her magic to wrap the rain and wind around her. She didn't stop it but she accepted it, pulled it close like a blanket as she walked onto the beach to meet the ocean. Her senses extended out, tentatively at first as she fought he familiar struggle of not letting herself get lost in her power. It was futile though, nothing short of her all was going to stop what was happening.

Releasing herself and succumbing to her power was too easy. Even after a lifetime of holding it back letting herself stretch her limits was impossibly easy. And Genevieve felt it. She felt everything. The storm instantly snapped into focus on her mind. It was a massive, raging force of destruction but oddly it seemed so little now. Genevieve could feel every bit of weather all over the entire world. The dry heat of the deserts to the freezing polar caps and everything in between she could feel it. She could touch.

Her body crackled with energy, spurts of lightning flickering over her body as she felt her magic sore through the weather patterns of the globe. Frost licked at her fingertips even as a scorching heat warmed her back. Genevieve could feel it all. With a simple thought she could make it rain where the ground felt so thirsty or send a tornado ripping across the plains.

But she knew she didn't have much time. Already she could feel her left hand jerking and spasming. In just a few moments she would probably have another seizure and she didn't think she would be waking up from this one. There was so much magic in her, so much rushing through and it felt amazing.

"Stop," she said, her voice barely more than a whisper against the rain and the wind but that didn't matter. It was hers, it was hers and it would do what she commanded it to. And Genevieve commanded the storm over and around Siren Cove to stop. There would be no flooding, no destruction, no loss of life. Reaching out she spread the energy of the storm across the globe. Anywhere it threatened to change things too much she gave a nudge or a push to right the weather.

She could feel the storm around her lessen and she smiled. She had done it. What had been the makings of a disaster of epic proportions had been reduced to nothing more than a now fading summer storm. But she couldn't let go now, she couldn't stop her own flood that she had created. The power was too much, she was drowning in it. It was so beautiful though, to feel everything she felt. Even the bad parts, the parts where they had hurt the weather. She could fix it too, she could fix it if she just reached out and-

And everything went black.

[Hooray, the storm threatening Siren Cove has been stopped! Boo, Genevieve put herself in a coma doing so. Look for a hospital thread from her in a week or so.]
